Our Services/For PE, VC & Family Offices
Know What Your Portfolio Is Actually Doing.
Before the board meeting, not during it.
You invested in the business, not the bookkeeping. Level10 CFO gives your portfolio companies human CFO leadership, multiplied by AI-enabled systems, so you get numbers you trust, forecasts you can underwrite, and a clearer path to exit.
The symptoms
Sound Familiar?
You’ve seen the pitch deck. You’ve seen the model. What you don’t always see is what’s really happening between board meetings.
The bad news shows up late.
You heard about the cash crunch from the bank, not the CEO.
Every company reports differently.
One sends a PDF, one sends a spreadsheet, one sends “we’re working on it.” Nothing compares.
The forecast is a hope with formulas.
It looked great at close. It hasn’t been touched since.
The board deck gets built the night before.
By the CEO. Who should be running the company.
Diligence turned up books nobody would sign.
And now you’re paying to clean them up.
The finance seat is a bookkeeper and good intentions.
Fine at $2M. Not fine at the next round, the next lender, or the exit.
None of this means the company is broken. It means the finance function hasn’t caught up to the capital behind it. (That part’s fixable.)
Where you sit
Different Capital. Different Questions.
VCs, PE firms and family offices don’t lose sleep over the same things. We start with yours.
01/ Venture capital
Fact from fiction. Fantasy from reality.
Every founder believes the plan. That’s their job. A seasoned CFO’s job is to help them tell which parts are fact and which are fiction, which assumptions are fantasy and which are reality, before your next check goes in.
Most founders have never been CFOs, and early-stage finance isn’t a smaller version of big-company finance. Our CFOs sit next to first-time founders while the business is still figuring itself out. They test whether the unit economics actually work, pressure-test the model before more capital goes in, and build the pivot case when product-market fit shows up somewhere unexpected.
- Seasoned CFO leadership, without a full-time CFO salary
- Unit economics by customer, channel and product
- Pivot and scenario modeling when the data points somewhere new
- Runway and burn you can see, before they’re emergencies
- Board decks the founder doesn’t build the night before
- Clean, diligence-ready books before the next raise
Pre-seed and pre-revenue? The flat-rate Startup Package fits early portfolio companies.
02/ Private equity
The 100-day plan, the covenants, the multiple.
Whether the CEO founded the company or you put them in the seat, they need a finance partner from day one, not a cleanup project in month six.
- Post-close finance cleanup and a reporting rhythm from day one
- Covenant tracking and lender reporting that’s on time, every time
- Margin and cash levers tied to the value creation plan
- Books that hold up in a quality of earnings review, for add-ons and exit
03/ Family offices
Governance and visibility for businesses you’ll own a long time.
We serve the operating companies you own, not the office itself.
- Consistent, comparable reporting across your operating companies
- A real finance leader in each business, not just a bookkeeper
- Forecasts built for patient capital, not the next quarter’s headline
- Controls and governance that protect the family’s interest
Fractional Integrator
Running the Integrator seat at several companies?
Finance lands on you at every client because it’s the seat nobody filled. We give you one finance partner across your whole portfolio: same cadence, same quality, no vetting someone new each time. You stay focused on accountability and traction. See how we can partner with you ⬇
The Level10 CFO Framework
Three Layers. One CFO in Charge.
Built for the people holding the capital. Here’s what each layer means from your side of the table.
Accounting Layer
01/ Numbers you can trust.
Timely monthly closes, clean books, and controls that hold up in an audit, a lender review or diligence. Necessary, not the point. But nothing else works without it.
Financial Planning Layer
02/ A forecast you can underwrite.
Rolling forecasts, budgets and scenarios tied to the investment thesis. Runway, covenants and cash, visible months ahead instead of a week too late.
Value Layer · Your CFO
03/ Sits with management. Speaks investor.
Pricing, margin, unit economics and working capital, led by a CFO who shows up to the board meeting prepared and raises problems while there’s still time to fix them.
AI does the grunt work in the books. The judgment stays human. That’s the whole idea: Human Leadership, AI-Multiplied.
For Example
What the Board Deck says
Cash runway
18 mo
On Plan
Plenty of time. Raise next year. On to the product update.
What your CFO sees
Real runway
11 mo
The plan assumes a hiring ramp that’s already behind and a churn rate nobody checked. The raise starts now, not next year. Better to hear it today than in month nine.
The result, at every company you own: optimized revenue, maximized margin, improved cash flow, and peace of mind.
How we work with investors
Start With One Company. Grow From There.
Most investor relationships start with one portfolio company that needs help now. Each company gets the path that fits it, and the free Data Readiness Evaluation tells us which.
P1/ Full-Service
Books, financial planning and a CFO on top, built or rebuilt as one team.
For when the finance function needs building, not tuning.
MOST COMMON FOR PORTFOLIO COMPANIES
P2/ CFO Advisory Only
A CFO in the board meetings and the big calls, plugged into the accounting the company already has.
For when the books are solid but nobody leads finance.
P3/ Accounting Only
Full monthly close, reconciliations, and GAAP-compliant, audit-ready statements.
For when a capable CEO or operating partner already holds the CFO seat.
Pre-revenue and pre-seed?
The Startup Package · $750/month, one flat rate
Investor-ready books from day one, a monthly close with a partner, and an hour of one-on-one CFO mentorship every month. A good fit for early VC portfolio companies.
Across your portfolio
Working across more than one company?
Let’s talk. If several of your companies need finance help, we’ll work out a reporting rhythm and engagement approach that makes sense across them. Same format, same cadence, one point of contact.

FAQ
Questions Investors Ask Us
Who does the CFO work for, us or the CEO?
The company engages us, and our CFO works alongside management every day. But we report the same numbers to the board and investors that we report to the CEO. No spin, no separate versions. If something’s off, everyone with a stake hears it early, starting with the CEO.
Can you work across more than one of our portfolio companies?
Yes. Each company gets the path that fits it, and we can line up reporting formats and cadence so the results compare. If you’re thinking about several companies at once, let’s talk about the best way to structure it.
How fast can you start after close?
Usually within a few weeks. The free Data Readiness Evaluation comes first, so we know what we’re walking into before we commit to a plan.
Will you work with our existing auditor or accounting firm?
Yes. We’ll own the monthly close and reporting and hand your auditor and tax advisors clean, organized books. That usually makes their work faster and cheaper.
Do you handle the family office’s own accounting?
No. We focus on the operating companies a family office owns. That’s where a CFO-led finance function makes the biggest difference to value.
One of our companies is pre-revenue. Is that too early?
Not at all. Our flat-rate Startup Package ($750/month) is built for pre-revenue, pre-seed companies, so the books are clean and investor-ready from the start. It includes monthly one-on-one CFO mentorship, which is often where first-time founders get the most value.
Do you help with diligence, fundraising or exit prep?
Yes. Diligence-ready books, a forecast that holds up under questioning, and clear answers on margin and cash are part of how we work, not an add-on.
Where does AI fit in?
Mostly in the books. AI-enabled systems speed up the close, catch errors and anomalies early, and keep reporting current without anyone rebuilding a spreadsheet every month. Our team reviews everything, and the CFO still makes the calls on pricing, cash, and the plan. Human leadership, AI-multiplied.
Start With the Data.
