PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Misty began her career as a chemist. In 2008, she transitioned to accounting, recognizing chemistry, particularly in biopharmaceuticals, was not a sustainable long-term career due to constant layoffs. She started in accounting and obtained her CPA while working for Veil Resorts. Her professional journey includes roles at Unisyn, Consensys, Medtronic, Aduro Advisors, and Ride Health. Misty first met Zack Delisa at Unisyn and worked there for three years before transitioning when the company was sold. She then went to Consensys for three years, a split-off portion of Unisyn. Zack “snagged” her again at Medtronic for a couple of years.
Following Medtronic, she worked at Aduro Advisors for five years, a staff admin firm where she performed work very similar to that at Level10 CFO, though for smaller companies focused more on investing. She left Aduro and did a short stint at Ride Health, where she cleaned up the financials as best she could before passing it on. During a break after Ride Health, she spoke with Zack, who brought her to Level10 CFO. Misty has worked in different industries for quite a long time.
Misty’s experience includes successfully overhauling incorrect revenue reporting processes, transforming manual spreadsheets into repeatable and efficient systems. At Ride Health, she was able to bring collections down significantly and get visibility and clean up processes to make things repeatable. She finds working in a small company rewarding due to the flexibility to focus on meaningful work and tailor things for the client’s focus, unlike large corporations that can be set in their ways with overdone processes. Misty notes she has a way of doing her job well that the people she works for always appreciate, evidenced by working with Zack for a third time. She is very attentive to details and good with reminders, which clients at a similar firm appreciated.

MORE INFORMATION
Misty’s professional values align strongly with Level10 CFO’s core values. She deeply appreciates the company’s culture, particularly the ability to mix joy with work and the emphasis on open communication. She finds it amazing to be in company meetings where people are joking and there’s a good vibe, which contrasts with stuffy meetings she’s experienced elsewhere.
Her commitment to braving the crucial conversations is evident in her proactive approach to identifying problems and working collaboratively to find solutions. For Misty, braving crucial conversations means identifying that something is happening, talking about it with those involved, and getting to a solution so it doesn’t happen again; it’s about fixing problems rather than just complaining. This approach to professionalism—getting work done, finding solutions, fixing problems, and avoiding repeated mistakes—is something she appreciates.
Misty embraces technology, which aligns with Level10 CFO’s Tech-Forward approach. As someone who grew up with less user-friendly computer systems, she developed flexibility and the ability to find solutions. She describes herself as a “clicker,” able to poke at software until it does what she wants. In the current environment with AI and new technologies, she sees many exciting opportunities, viewing technology as a tool if used correctly.
Beyond her professional life, Misty is an enthusiastic cat lover, currently caring for three cats and with a history of fostering kittens, including recent litters from a rescue organization called the Feline Fix. Fostering kittens is part of the reason she is a contractor. She also identifies as an “unrepentant geek” with a passion for Japanese animation (anime), Manga, and Marvel movies. She enjoys attending events like Denver Comic-Con and the Colorado Symphony’s movie nights, appreciating how music impacts films. This personal touch reinforces Level10 CFO’s value of not being “boring” and having “clearly detectable personalities”. Misty values teamwork and collaboration, seeing it as essential for the benefit of both the client and the company.
Misty’s extensive experience, expertise in financial clean-up and process improvement, transparent client communication style, and strong alignment with Level10 CFO’s core values make her a valuable asset. Her dedication to clarity, solutions, and a collaborative spirit ensures she is a trusted advisor committed to making businesses better.
