Sheryll’s love for her work translates to an ability to find a sense of purpose and fulfillment in all she does. Her client-first focus helps her tailor her approach to meet the unique needs of each client or project. Since 2001, Sheryll has worked as a Finance Officer, Accountant, or Client Care Executive in a range of industries, including insurance, government, hospitality, health and wellness products, and oil and gas.

Sheryll’s strong work ethic means she’ll always meet the deadline and go the extra mile. Clients and colleagues appreciate her dependability, humility, warmth, and attention to detail. She knows that effective communication is vital to her work and builds relationships through openness, trust, and collaboration. She is also a firm believer in the power of laughter, whether to lighten the load, move past issues, or simply connect with a colleague.
EDUCATION
Sheryll earned her BS in Accountancy from Silliman University (cum laude). She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant, and also holds a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Certification.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Math was Sheryll’s favorite subject in school and she was always comfortable working with numbers, so a career in accounting was an easy fit. Post-college, she accepted an Accountant position with a Philippines government agency providing insurance and loan assistance programs to government employees and assets. Sheryll’s six-year tenure at the agency enabled her to gain a strong understanding of accounting processes, including bank reconciliations, journal entries, expense reporting, GL, financial statement preparation, variance analysis, monthly close, and management reporting. During the two periods when the agency’s chief accountant was on maternity leave, Sheryll was entrusted to step in to lead the monthly close process. She was also selected to lead payroll and administrative duties when the administrative chief also took her maternity leave. When Sheryll had the chance to help her then-boyfriend found a business selling his special-recipe grilled, roasted, and fried chicken, however, she couldn’t pass up the opportunity. Together they built the business from the ground up, with her boyfriend doing the cooking and managing the staff, operations, marketing and Sheryll handling the reporting and the financials for the next 10 years. Early on, as their business became established, she simultaneously spent a year as a Credit Support Accountant for Chevron Corporation’s shared services center, performing background credit checks, interfacing with applicants, rejecting or approving applications, and more.

Ultimately, however, Sheryll’s growing family required more flexibility, so it was time to move on from the grilled, roasted, and fried chicken business. She shifted gears in 2017, becoming a part-time Customer Relations and Order Processing Executive for a consumer products company. Of course, Sheryll’s new boss eventually realized that her accounting background and diverse skill set positioned her to assist the organization in other key ways, including assisting with financial reporting and audit preparation, identifying process improvement opportunities, and supporting the technical team in resolving system-related issues. For a two-year period during this time, she also spent two years as a Client Care Manager for an Australia-based content creation organization handling a range of project management and client relationship duties. All this to say, Sheryll is adept at juggling multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Seeking a return to focusing on finance and accounting, Sheryll joined Level10 CFO in 2024.
